RecConnect Model FC050 Titan Trail Groomer

RecConnect has been involved with developing prototype ATV trail grooming implements for 12 years. We have experimented with all kinds of styles, but the Titan is the most efficient and effective drag that we have developed. It effectively cuts moguls, fills in ruts, and smoothes the trail tread. Though designed for OHV trails, it can be used effectively on any trail with the appropriate width. It tows easily behind any ATV or UTV with a ball hitch and grooms trails that are 44” or more in width. The standard design can groom tight, curvilinear trails in the woods or bush. The extendable tongue design works better on wider or straighter trails. Electric/hydraulic controls allow the operator to easily raise the drag over roads, cattleguards, roots, or rocky trail sections. The unit can also be used to smooth roads, camp spurs, and parking lots. Quality materials and construction insure durability. The Titan is built tough to withstand the rigors of trail grooming and to make efficient use of your trail maintenance dollar.

The standard color is bright orange to improve visibility, but medium green or black is also available at no cost to better conceal the unit if it is to be left out overnight in the woods.

On steeper ground or on trails with highly super-elevated curves, the optional u-joint coupler is recommended. It fits any 2x2” receiver hitch and provides additional protection for the operator by allowing the drag to roll over without pulling the ATV/UTV with it.

Some ATV models come equipped with light duty hitches. In the unlikely event of hitch failure, the standard breakaway wiring allows the unit to completely separate from the ATV without risk of injury to the operator.

We also offer a sliding comb model often referred to as the “Missoula Rake.” Our model is the SC050 and we recommend this model for use during trail construction or very heavy trail maintenance.

For routine maintenance, however, the Titan FC050 is several hundred pounds lighter, has a lower center of gravity, is less expensive, and is more maneuverable than the Missoula Rake. It is easier to tow and because it is lighter, there is less drag on the tow vehicle which improves the longevity of the engine, transmission, tires, and hitch.

We recommend that this unit be pulled by a minimum 500cc, 4x4, liquid-cooled ATV.
