SC050 Titan Trail Boss Groomer

Many of our customers have been asking us to build a sliding comb groomer because they want the versatility that this implement provides.

The SC050 has a sliding comb that allows the rake to reach out and pull in berms, or to help scatter berms and debris from alongside the trail. With repeated maintenance, the elevation of the trail tread tends to go down and berms of wasted material form along the shoulders of the trail. The SC050 allows the trail manager to recover this wasted material to help restore the original grade of the trail. The advantage of the sliding comb is that the tow vehicle and the groomer can stay safely within the trail tread while raking in or scattering material outside of the trail tread.

RecConnect has been involved with developing prototype ATV trail grooming implements for 12 years. We have experimented with all kinds of styles, but the Titan is the most efficient and effective drag that we have developed. It effectively cuts moguls, fills in ruts, and smoothes the trail tread. Though designed for OHV trails, it can be used effectively on any trail with the appropriate width. It tows easily behind any ATV or UTV with a 2” receiver hitch and grooms trails that are 44” or more in width. The standard design can groom tight, curvilinear trails in the woods or bush. The extendable tongue design works better on wider or straighter trails. Electric/hydraulic controls allow the operator to easily raise the drag over roads, cattleguards, roots, or rocky trail sections. The unit can also be used to smooth roads, camp spurs, and parking lots. Quality materials and construction insure durability.

The Titan is built tough to withstand the rigors of trail grooming and to make efficient use of your trail maintenance dollar. The SC050 is an ideal implement for trail construction or for heavy maintenance.

The standard color is bright orange to improve visibility, but medium green or black is also available at no cost to better conceal the unit if it is to be left out overnight in the woods. Powder coating is standard for a professional, durable finish.

For improved safety, the SC050 comes standard with a u-joint coupler that fits any 2x2” receiver hitch. Since the SC050 is several hundred pounds heavier and has a higher center of gravity than the FC050, the u-joint coupler provides additional protection for the operator by allowing the drag to twist and rotate independently from the ATV/UTV.

Some ATV models come equipped with light duty hitches. In the unlikely event of hitch failure, the standard breakaway wiring allows the unit to completely separate from the ATV without risk of injury to the operator.

We recommend that this unit be pulled by a minimum 500cc, 4x4, liquid-cooled ATV or UTV with high/low range.
